Under heavy eyelids, I have dragged myself to a computer to propose my second consecutive theme week. Wednesday evening, Chaz, Vlad and I hopped into my car and drove to Kansas. I returned at 3 AM and, to the best of my knowledge, Chaz and Vlad are still in the middle of the field I dumped them in. No, I did not leave them for dead; I left them for dead drunk, a difference so subtle that I wouldn't expect any of you to understand it.

So, in the spirit of making this blog a more unforgiving protrusion of the internet--imagine something like a bolt of lightning, or a trident--this week's theme is : Reasons Why Chaz And Vlad Should Have Been Dumped In The Middle Of A Field Long Before This Weekend.

I hope my remaining suitemate is up the challenge of this theme week. If not, I'm fully prepared to provide all the answers necessary for you to understand why I've done what I've done.

Oh, and Happy Halloween.

That is all.

A note on the structure and flow of the site:

It was brought to my attention that the comment system on the site is a little screwy; the few people who comment, comment only when they finish reading the post. Thus, the only people who ever see those comments are us and those who read the post later. It should come as no surprise that readers aren't clicking the link posts to see if a new comment has been posted.

So, in the interest of having a comment board that is more than a litany of parting shots, I've disabled your ability to comment on the post page itself. If you want to comment, you've got to do it on the main page, Suite 3100. Just a click of the back button, folks. I may be shooting myself in the foot here, discouraging the few who comment from doing so; if this is the case, please let me know and I'll put it back the old way.

How my participation in this meaningless ritual became obligatory, I'll never know.

Simple theme, with the opportunity for great extrapolation: What are you going to dress up as for Halloween weekend/Halloween? Most of us, so long as we remain in a state of moderate sobriety, are too old to consider knocking on stranger's doors, demanding snacks; however, with the large number of parties that come along with one of the more entertaining holidays, there is always some amount of costumery and cosplay. I ask my suitemates this question with very little legitimate interest in their answers; I ask more to answer the question myself, and perhaps to embarass my suitemates, showing their pathetic costumes for what they are.

To better contrast my glory to their inadequacy, I will post my costume only after they have posted theirs.

Best for last, as they say.

That is all.

I cannot explain this picture, except to say that Alfonzo must be back on campus.

The vehicle pictured is Brody's car and written on it is "Tiny Willy. [heart] AJD"

Alfonzo, come home. We miss you.

I just realized that my last post was the 69th post on Suite 3100.

Just thought I'd let you know.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present you yet another theme for the week. I had asked Chaz if Carl could give it a shot, but then Carl couldn't think of anything, so the burden fell on me. Don't worry, Carl. I don't mind.

I declare this week to be

Just talk about some of your favorite video games, or maybe some sort of list of games for different times (party game, alone game, games you shouldn't play while indulgent of suicidal thoughts, stoner game, etc...). I don't know. Just talk about video games, dammit!

There is, of course, a good reason for this seemingly random theme week. I have recently heard of a concert which features a symphonic orchestra playing video game music from every gaming pantheon; it's called Video Games Live, They are coming to St. Louis in November, and I am most definitely going. I will pay any price.

Uhh, so this isn't really a post. I'm just wondering where everybody in my suite went. It's a Thursday night, you guys. Where's the pre-weekend spirit? Where's the excitement? I drank half a bottle of wine by myself. I wanted to share, I really did, but there was no one around to share it with.

Fonz, you're probably at the damn mall, but fuck if I know where Vlad and Alan are.

If I find out that you guys were off doing homework somewhere, so help me God...

Fucking Thursday night, doggies. Check your calendar some time.

A brief note.

Carl Britt has joined the Suite 3100 blog. I thought, a few days ago, that it would be interesting if Carl would write some guest entries. The more I thought about it, the more sense it made to just give him the same access as the rest of us.

Whether or not you read my most recent post, I should tell you that I don't know anyone quite like Carl. I hope, in time, that he will become a welcomed member of the Suite 3100 family.

Alright, it's my turn to pick a theme post. If you read about my weekend, you'll know that this week's theme will be "one thing we miss about being home, along with one thing we love about being where we are." This is a completely open topic, by the way. Take it in any direction you want to, guys.

For instance, Chaz's favorite thing about St. Louis might be the Waffle House in Florissant; my understanding is that they don't have Waffle House in California. Similarly, Vlad might miss the drinking age in Russia; my understanding is that when Russians say "drinking age" they actually mean "drinking era," a period of time which extends back to the very beginnings of the Russian nation.

I'd follow this post with my own answer, only I'm on a lab computer, and I feel I can only do this properly with my laptop, Comrade. Even without a true post, you should be able to live for the next few hours.

This message will self-destruct around the age of 43.
